LAYERS OF LIGHT

LAYERS OF LIGHT is founded by Bettina Elbæk Pedersen. For the past 1.5 years, she has designed and produced large sculptural wall lights that stand out from the rest of the lighting market.

With over 10 years of experience as design manager at Louis Poulsen and working with lighting design for several other companies, Bettina has extensive expertise in lighting. Only now does she feel ready to present her own vision in lighting, where aesthetics and quality of light go hand in hand.

The design is based around layers of light and interesting jumps in luminance levels. Some of the luminaires have a mirror backdrop that almost fools the eye into thinking there is a room behind the light. Despite their sculptural nature, these innovative lamps manage to illuminate the room in a surprisingly effective way.

Currently, handmade models can be ordered directly from Bettina, but her plan is to find an international partner to produce and sell them so she can concentrate on developing the many other new models in her head. In just 1.5 years, she has already developed more than 12 different models.
