Design hub in Lapidarium of the Kings
The DDcated Designhub concept will not be part of 3 Days of Design in 2026
The decision has been made by the initiators Lene and Thomas Junker Wiberg together with Peter Mørk, who since 2020 have developed DDcated with the purpose of helping emerging designers and micro-businesses gain greater visibility within a professional community.
A well-considered decision
“It has been a carefully considered decision,” the three initiators state.
“The internationalisation of the design festival, which now attracts a growing number of large international brands, combined with its distribution across multiple districts, means that we are unable to participate without compromising our original purpose:
To create a strong, focused design hub – rather than simply serving as a location for brands seeking a place to exhibit.”
We have great respect for what 3 Days of Design has created and for the significant visibility now directed towards Copenhagen as a design destination. However, our primary focus has been to support smaller emerging designers and micro-businesses by collectively creating greater visibility in close dialogue with culture.
“We identified a need for a dedicated design hub where visibility, creative synergy, and strong Danish networks could grow together.”
Over the past years, DDcated has attracted more than 5,000 high-quality visitors to the beautiful Kongernes Lapidarium and has developed into a must-see platform for investors, agents, and talent scouts. Several designers who have exhibited with DDcated have since been selected for Denmark’s Next Classic and Løvens Hule (Dragons’ Den). In addition, DDcated has annually supported graduating students from design schools through the DDcated Award, complimentary exhibition spaces, and active involvement in relevant professional debates.
Gratitude and a look to the future.
We are proud of what we have achieved – particularly the strong network and sense of community that has emerged between young talents, niche brands, and established players in an industry undergoing rapid change.
